G24 Awards Hat-Trick Victory for Sternfenster

At the 2024 G-Awards, the annual event to recognise and celebrate the best of the UK glass and glazing industry, we won the Training & Development Initiative category. This is the third year in a row that we have been the recipients of this award, demonstrating the commitment we have to investing in our Lincoln based workforce. We have the privilege of celebrating our 50th year in business and scoring our third year of winning this category, which, as our MD Mike Parczuk rightly says, “proves that we must be doing something right!”

Talent growth and progression are highly valued in this industry, as demonstrated by the nine shortlisted nominees for this award. Our training development programme was nominated in no small part due to our ‘Pursuit for Platinum’ initiative, which aims to become one of only 2% of organisations worldwide to achieve this. We earned our Gold Investors in People standard in 2022, and we are continually working to better ourselves and this result. 

EasyAdmin Plus Software

We launched the first version of our EasyAdmin software, which was then called Quick Quote, in April 2003! As you can imagine, it has changed a lot over the past two decades, evolving into a CRM platform that allows installers to gather information about customers, quotes, and orders. It’s connected to our SF Plus portal and Proposal Builder to give our clients easy access to their customers. However, even our most developed version of EasyAdmin needed to be improved upon eventually, which is why we launched our EasyAdmin+ system. 

This new cloud based programme allows you to design professional quotes, track and manage leads, and give you full control over the production and delivery of your products. Because it is stored in the cloud, you can access EasyAdmin+ wherever you have an internet connection. This level of control over your systems leads to creating new business with ease, reducing errors, and maximising profits. Now, you can not only respond to every lead that you come across but you can also chase outstanding payments and arrange surveys, installations, and service calls easily. There will be more features launched in 2025, but the software is ready with a wealth of features already to help you make the most of your business. 

The Journey to Net Zero by 2050

At Sternfenster, we place a lot of importance on being a sustainable, energy-conscious business. We know that there is no Planet B to rely on, which is why we are taking every step possible to hit our goal of being Net Zero by 2050. Between 2022 and 2023, we managed to reduce our emissions of electricity, gas, and diesel, with an overall CO2 kg drop of 18%. We also saved 15% more emissions year on year. With the products we create, everything is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment. We have three core missions to achieve this. 

Reducing heat loss – Every year, outdated or faulty windows and doors are responsible for 18% of heat loss from a building. All of our products are created with high energy efficiency ratings to lower overall carbon emissions from UK homes. 

Sustainable products – As a prominent fabrication company, we understand the importance of sustainable materials. This is why we have a Window Recycling Scheme, in partnership with Smart and Deceuninck, that aims to keep uPVC and aluminium out of landfill and being reused for homes. Not only does this lower the amount of rubbish taking years to decompose, but it also saves energy on completely refabricating the materials for an entirely new product. 

Sustainable energy – We are focussed on continual investment in renewable energies for manufacturing. We are committed to lowering our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, switching to renewable and sustainable energy, while using less energy overall for our processes.
